Family Camp Out

We had a great time on our annual campout this year. It was good to see everyone who came and we certainly missed those of you who couldn't or didn't! Mom, Dad, Steph, Steve and their 4 granddaughters went up on Tuesday, June 19th to save the spot and enjoy the week. Heidi and Marshall came up on Wednesday and so did Jason, Missi, Kaden, and Natalie. Then Marcia and Kylee came up on Thursday. We all went to Riverdale Resort on Thursday for an afternoon of water fun.

As you can see, some of us have fun doing different things! I soaked my arthritic old knees in the hot water pools while Heidi talked to me. Jason and the kids all had fun on the slide and on the diving boards. And you can see what Marcia did!!! Mom and dad stayed at the camp and went scouting around the area. We were water logged by the time we left but everyone had a smile on their faces.

Oh, the time has slipped away from me and I have to go to an appointment. More to come.......

News from the Nicholls

Well we have been busy with summer projects. We dug out our cement at the front of our driveway and cut the curb down so the trailers would be easier to back in. It was quite the experience. We rented a jack hammer and had some fun. Steve and I jack hammered and loaded three and a half tons of cement one Saturday. Luckily Shawn and his friend showed up for the last part of the job because Steven and I were spent! Now its all re-poured and back to normal.

We've been having some fun also. Here is a picture of Natalie and Kaden playing in the water on a baby tending day. This was Kaden's first experience with "running" through the sprinklers! He is a fish at heart!

How was the Campout?

Sorry you all, we had to miss the Maughan Campout this year. Craig was the Rangemaster at the OTML Rendezvous and he had to be there. Next year however, we are changing the week of the Rendezvous by one week earlier, so it won't coincide with the Maughan Campout again! How was it anyhow? Who all came? Who took pics? You need to post some of them on the blog so we can see all the fun we missed. In the mean time at the Rendezvous Casey won a black powder pistol for one of his shooting events and I won this really cool box. I'll have to post some pics as soon as I find the camera...everything is buried still. Now the unpacking begins. We took a couple of extra kids with us, so needless to say, 2 adults and 5 kids in a wall tent going totally primative was quite an experience! It was pretty fun though. Thanks for Nancy's number Marta-I'll have to call her and see what's up. Sounds like your boys will be back soon if all goes as planned and they don't end up with another side trip like on the way there. Hope all goes great for them. Probably be up there sometime next week. We just finished with State Survey at work and we have been swamped.

Well hello every one just to update you on severo and derek and colby they have been hyanco for the past four day's and they have been seeing different things there. they are going to head back to lima today and finish there trip there with his brother's and his aunt and uncle. they well be home on Sunday July 1st at 10:30 p.m. and then severo has to go to work on Monday july 2nd . so you well have to come to are house and see the picture's that they took and look at all the stuff they bought ok. keep in touch. well good bye for now.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to our dad, the best dad around. Even though we all are not able to be there to spend Father's Day with you, I hope you know we always have you in our hearts and not just on this day designated for dads. We love you! Words could never explain even a little bit of how much we appreciate, respect and love you. Thank you for teaching us how to work hard and how to do things right the first time, for teaching us to love each other, for teaching us the importance of family and for just being there when we need you. Well hello every one I talked to severo last night and he said they made it back to Lima from Cerro de Pasco and the boy's saw a policeman along the way he had some one stopped and they had some thing and the police shot three people. when they were diving back to lima from cerro de pasco they saw this happen so they were scared. so now they are going to go to hyancayo next week that is where you can buy cheap clothes and stuff so they are going to the fair there.

Well good heck everyone seems to be having lots of fun! Severo, Derek, and Colby are out partying in Peru! Then the Lindsays and Marshall had some good fun at a rendevous! I'm a little jealous! It's always neat to see pictures of everyone! Well we had a yard sale on Saturday...finally sold lots of Kurt's stuff. As well as our own! We needed it...you know how my Mom is...she likes to keep things forever...but hey I'm the same way! HA. But Jason and his family came over too while Shawn went camping! It was a long day, but we had fun goofing around! Oh Shawn finally got a new truck! I don't know what it is except that is a Ford and its black. He was in shock at first, but really enjoying it now. It's nice for him to haul his fourwheeler now! As for the rest of us we are just hanging out! My Mom and I are both off for the month..so we just hang out everyday! Ha its super nice! Well sorry if this was boring, but I just wanted to say Hi from us down here! And I am glad everyone is doing well and having lots of fun! We will see you all soon!!!!

COW PIE CHAMPION

Marshall is the COW PIE CHAMP

They had a cow pie throwing contest on Saturday afternoon. And Marshall (Cow Pie) DeBruin was the all time Champ!!!

He took 1st place and won $20.00 in trader bucks, which he promptly spent on a knife. From one of the traders.

(don't worry Heidi we didn't really let him eat the cow pie)

the Cow pie was a Frisbee that looked like a cow pie.

Marshall also grew a beard while he was at rendezvous, (looks a lot like a fox tail)

Fort Henery Rendezvous 2007

Marshall came with us, this is his first rendezvous and I think he had a pretty good time. While I was shooting the Smooth Bore. Casey, Marshall & Kerri shot the Black powder trail walk togeather (3 man teams), and did very good, only missing 3 ? (I think)

Well Severo called me this morning from Peru and he said they were in Cuzo peru and they are going to see the ruin's and then they are going to watch the interrami and also go visit the statue of the saxewomen in cuzo that is a really neat thing to see. Then on Friday they are going to go to Machipucu to all of the ruin's there. when severo and derek and colby were going to the air port this morning in peru they went to mcdonald's to eat breakfast and the boy's ate the same thing and they got sick for awhile. severo said they are feeling better . the boy's dont like mcdonalds very much now in peru. well thats all for now. Stephanie well you send me the web site's for the grant's so that I can get them going for derek to see if he can get finacial help. well that's all for now. from kylee and marcia villanueva.

Holy Cow, what a trip!

Marcia, it sounds like your boys took the long way to Peru!!! Though, it may have been a fun little side trip, huh? I'm glad to hear they made it safe and sound. Hopefully, the trip back won't take quite so long or you might be camping out at the airport waiting for them. We'll see you all at Brody's wedding. Until then...by the way, tell Heidi, Marshall is having a great time. So far the weather has kept the boys from working too many hours a day. And on Friday morning we head for France, Idaho that is...to take the boys to the Fort Henry Rendezvous. However, the weather calls for SNOW SHOWERS Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We'll post some pics when we get back so you can see how the weather really turns out.

Well just wanted to let every one know that Severo Derek Colby finally made it to Peru on June 4,2007 at 6:00 a.m. they got there a day late because when they left Salt Lake on June 2nd after they arrived in Chiago they had to waite there untill 6:20 p.m. and then when there flight was ready to go to Miami it was delayed and so they had to waite one more hour in Chiago untill they left and when they got to Miami it was to late and they canceled there flight to Peru. So then the air line had to put them up in a motel and they got to stay at the marriot and it was by the ocean and they said they could see the big cruise ships coming in to dock and so they walked along the beach on sunday june 3,2007 . then they went back to the hotel room because it was to hot to be out doors . the air line had to give them money for breakfast and lunch and dinner also. so then they sunday night they went back to the air port in miami at 8:00 p.m. and they got there flight at 11:55 p.m. and then they flew to peru. and got there at 6:00a.m. in the moring . derek likes the food. but colby isn't so sure about it.
