Here are some pic's of Cassie, Casey & Craig at the Idaho history day, we do this every year for the Cassia County School district, they bring all the 4th graders from the whole district. and we get to teach them about the mountain man & fur trade era. Cassie & Casey got to sluff school and spend all day talking to 4th graders.....Yea!!!! It's really kinda fun, we talk about the fur trade era then we demonstrate how to load a muzzle loader & gun safety, then we fire off a few rounds, then we demonstrate how to throw the hawk and knives, then they each get to take a turn throwing them. there are about 15 stations & they spend about 25 -30 min. at each one.

Steve, Heidi, Marshall and I went for a quick trip on Labor Day weekend to Yellowstone. We had a great time. This is a picture of Heidi and I at a lookout with the falls in the background. You can't see the falls very good but of well.
We stayed at Roosevelt Lodge on Saturday night in the cabins there. It's a fun little out of the way area. There were deer that came to visit Marshall when he was playing in the creek that was near our cabin. Ask Marshall how buffalo steak tastes with Huckleberry sauce on it! That was the special at the restaurant at Roosevelt. It was pretty funny!

Here we are at Firehole Canyon. It was pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings. We spent Sunday night at The Mammoth Hotel. I thought I had reserved a cabin there too. Apparently we had a miscommunication. The rooms were nice enough but their idea of air conditioning is a 12 in oscillating fan in a room with one plug. Needless to say we all roasted! We saw a big 6 point bull sitting on the lawn right outside our hotel with his harem of cows all close by. They weren't bothered a bit by all the tourists who were enjoying the view. We took Marshall out to the Lamar Valley on Sunday evening to see a big grizzly that Steve and I had spotted on Saturday evening. He just on the far side of the river that runs through that valley. You could see him quite well with binoculars but, we had our spotting scope an you could see him really well with that. He was foraging through the grasses and enjoying a good meal. It was a real treat to be able to watch him for about an hour. I think Marshall was totally impressed as were Steve and I. On Sunday we also were able to see three wolves lying in an open meadow in the winding, steep area near Canyon. There were 2 greys and a black just enjoying the morning sun. There were hard to see with binoculars but it was better with the scope. Of course, we saw many bison and Steve and Marshall got to see a really big bull moose over by the petrified tree area.

At the Grizzly Center in West Yellowstone I got to sit on the bear couch. It's my favorite picture so I had to put it in. There aren't many pictures of Steve. He was the camera man, scope man, chauffer, well actually he was in charge of making sure everything went well. And it did!

We took Flat Stanley along on the trip with us so you'll see him in several pictures too. Of course, he had a great time too! This is at the Grizzly Center in West Yellowstone. They have a museum there and we were impressed with the polar bear.

This is at the Grizzly Center too. We were able to see the 2 grizzlies that were out eating their morning meal of fish. We also saw the wolves there too. It was impressive even though they were in caged enclosures.

Oh, lucky day! I did find a picture with Steve in it. Here we are out in front of the Grizzly Center. We left on Friday night and traveled as far as Ashton Idaho. There's a little hotel there where Steve and I have stayed before. As I said it was a fast trip but, a really fun one. We were excited when Heidi and Marshall accepted our invitation to go with us. Heidi said the last time they were in Yellowstone was when Marshall was a toddler. Marshall was impressed with all the animals. The only draw back about the weekend was that we had to miss Tana's wedding. I heard that it was very nice. Natalie said it was a really great day, we were sorry we weren't there! I guess we'll see you all on the 22nd for Loni's wedding.

Vacation Lindsay Style

#1 Kerri kicking some a@#??? #2 At the falls, Cassie thinking she was too tired to finish hiking up to the top. She made Casey carry her the rest of the way up. #3 "Wetbacks" at the local fish processing plant. Don't they really look like they coulda been there? #4 Casey's new girl friend. She's a real a$$. :-) #5 Now, Casey grabbing some a$$. He was quite the busy boy. #6 Cassie as usual talking on the phone. Even when out of cell phone service range, she managed to try to get the oldie, but goodie to work for her as well. #7 At one of the Lewis and Clark parks in Oregon on the way home. They thought it would make a cool picture. I think we spent half a day just inside on of the museums along the way near The Dalles. You wouldn't think teenagers would find a museum so much fun.

Somewhere in Washington & Oregon

#1 No this is not a playground. The two little juvenile deliquents are on an art sculture just outside of the space needle. Lucky for them they didn't get arrested. There is a sign telling to Keep Off! #2 At a rest area somewhere, some kind of blue bird stealing corn nuts that we had set out for the squirrels. #3 Cody and Casey feeding the squirrels right out of their hands. M&M's and squirrels??? Hope it didn't kill 'em. #4 & #5 Cassie & Casey at the bottom of the space needle. #6 Well, imagine that!!! On our little visit to see Craig's brother Kevin, the boys went out for a little fishing trip and this is what they caught. Really, after a day of fishing in the middle of nowhere in the mountains, the boys going just a little too fast on washboard roads ended up off the road, over three trees and down about a fifteen foot drop. Luckily no one was hurt. Craig and Kevin went to the rescue and got home with the boys safe and sound about 4 AM after traversing just about every old logging road on the mountain. #7 Just outside of Portland, on the way home. This was a really fun spot to stop. #8 Outside the Seattle Aquarium. We spent a ton of time here and could have spent longer. There were some really cool things to see. #9 Cody kissing a pig at the Space Needle. #10 Cody at the bottom of the space needle.

Trip to Oregon

We wanted to share some of our pictures from our trip to Oregon and Washington. Here are a few of the highlights. #1 You know things have really gone to the dogs when your own kid acts like one. This was at a rest area along the way, thank goodness Cody didn't try to use the fire hydrant! #2 Cassie and her twin sister...can't you see the resemblance??? This was a mummy in one of the waterfront museums in Seattle #3 The kids atop the Seattle space needle. #4 A picture of the kids making friends with a sailor and the gulls on the waterfront. #5 Craig's favorite word...Wenatchee...this is on one of the ferries that goes across Puget Sound. I thought it might be pretty boring for the kids, but they actually had a pretty good time on the ride. It was surprising to find out the kids would actually go on another road trip with the parents. It must have been alright.

Howdy!

Cassie, Casey and I went to mom and dads this weekend to spend a little time. It sounds like Loni and Courtney are getting hitched September 22nd at 1:30pm at the Newton church. We thought that during that weekend we all might help mom and dad get some of there stuff from Grandma Rigby's house and separate out what to keep, throw away and send to the DI. That is if you are all game. Anyway, we probably need to help get their garage cleaned out too, but that will most likely require a whole other weekend?! Mom is planning for a family BBQ at her house September 30th (Sunday)for lunch. Bring salads, desserts, rolls, chips. Mom and dad will supply the meat. The BBQ is in honor of Stephanie's, Colby's, Cody's and Dad's B-days and all the recent weddings. Just a fun day to get together and enjoy each others company. Hope you can all be there. Congratulations to Chantelle and Natasha on their baptisms Saturday. Way to go girls! Sorry we couldn't be there for it. It sounds like Tana's wedding reception was just awesome and beautiful. We were so sorry we couldn't be there, but had already made plans for the holiday that couldn't be broken. :-( Well, our latest news is that Cassie and Casey entered several pictures and drawings at the Cassia County Fair. Both of them did really well with first, second and third placings. At our Fair they only give out one first, one second and one third place and the rest don't get anything. So the kids thought they were pretty lucky to do as well as they did. We will have to post some of the summer Rendezvous pictures and trip to Washington and Oregon pictures to share. I am not very adept at it, so Craig will have to help me once he's off his 7 12 hour shifts in a row for start up at the factory. Yucky!!! Way too much work. Talk to ya all later.

Craig and Kerri

Hey Family!

Wow this family has been busy these last couple of months. Between all the marriages and good fun everyone has been running around! So how is everyone doing? Anything exciting coming up? Keep us updated! We are just hanging out. My parents have been running around. I'm sure they will post some pictures from Yellowstone! They said they had a great time! Well have a great day. I just thought I would say hi!
