Fort Bridger
We just got back from the Fort Bridger Rendezvous. It was good to see Natalie, Brent and his family, mom & dad, Marcia, Severo, Colby and Kylee up there. You'll have to have Severo show you the palm leaf hat he bought, he looks pretty cool in it. It was good to see everyone and visit for a while, it seems like forever since we have been to Newton or had a chance to see anyone. We went to the Rendezvous with seven other couples from our blackpowder club. For meals we had each couple fix one meal (breakfast or dinner). That made it so easy. We either got lunch on our own or threw in together with sandwiches and chips. We didn't shoot at all this rendezvous, but did get in on the knife and hawk throwing competitions and primitive archery. The archery is a blast! I even have a big bruise on my arm where I got twanged from the string. I had to use Craig's bow and it has way more pounds of pull than I am used to. One of our club members has a cannon and we went up to watch the cannon shoot as well. They shoot as this big target on the hill several miles away, that is a kick. Anyhow, I also ran into Raylyn and ValJay Rigby and their kids and Troy Jenkins and family. That was weird. I knew the Rigby's came to them, by not Troy. It took Troy a minute to recognize who I was. That day I had my hair in two braids like Indian ladies wear it, because it was so windy. He said the hairdo really threw him off. We did get rained on all Sunday night and Monday and we had to put all of our canvas back up when we got home to dry it all out which was kind of a pain, however, we did not get wet in the tent. Good to know it will hold out some pretty wet weather. But you could see on the inside of the tent you could see, almost like sweat beading up. If we would have touched the walls I am sure it would have ran like a sieve. We also got stuck a couple of times getting out of the Rendezvous, so again it took longer to leave than we planned for. Thanks to good friends and ones we did not know, getting unstuck was relatively simple. All in all an awesome week spent in good company and with good food.

Sounds like the rendezvous was a great lot of fun. Maybe sometime we will have to come check out all the fun. Steve and I went to Yellowstone again for the Labor Day weekend. It was a nice trip. Hope to see you guys all soon.
